Fallout 76 has surely had its fair share of bugs since its release in late 2018 but the discovery this time around is something that could shed light on a potential new addition to the game. Players since the last patch in Fallout 76 have reported multiple instances of NPCs stealing their weapons and ammo. Previously only other players could loot your dead body but now unintendedly the NPCs are taking thousands worth of loot from dead players.

This was not intended but if you think about it, no game has NPCs that steal your loot after you die to them. With games trying to be more immersive than ever, an addition that NPCs having the potential to take some of your loot is a game changer.

The problem here is that there is no way for the players to get their loot back currently because it is a bug and obviously not setup for what is occurring. However, making this bug into a game mechanic would be a great addition to a game like fallout where the uncertainty of friend or foe is everywhere. The simplest way to make this a potential mechanic in the game is starting by allowing players to kill the NPC and recover their loot and then polish the mechanics from there. At the end of the day it is currently a bug but there is definitely big potential here for a new addition to a game that is already on its way to being better and it could even influence more games in the future to potentially use this idea.
